Methods: HFERP Obtaining Images Using the Typhoon Scanner (6-01-04)
1. Once the gel is properly placed onto the scanner, open the "Typhoon scanner control" program.
2. Set the gel range to extend from A3 to J12. Set the pixel size to 200 microns and focal plane to +3mm. Use the following template for scanning the gels:
| Channel | Filter | Laser | Sensitivity | PMT | Splitter |
| 1 | 610 BP 30 | Green | (532 nm) | Normal | 800 V 580 |
| 2 | 526 SP | Green | (532 nm) | Normal | 800 V |
3. Save images to the HD first and then copy to the disk to avoid a possible "split image" glitch.
4. Dispose of gels. Clean and dry the Typhoon scanner surface.
5. Input gel images into Bionumerics as shown in Identifying the Source Groups of Water Isolates Using the Database (6-01-04).
